Link Types Explained — Guest Posts, Link Insertions and Homepage Links

MeUp's marketplace has four placement types. They're not interchangeable — each has a different placement location, use case, and typical price point. Here's what each one actually means and when to use it.

A new article is written and published on the site, with your link

placed naturally within the content. You either provide the article

yourself or order it from our copywriting team.

When it makes sense: You want a topically relevant piece of content

supporting the link, or you're targeting sites with strict editorial

standards that require original submissions.

What to know: Publisher review time varies. Sites with active

editorial teams may take a few days; others turn around same-day.

Estimated turnaround is shown on each listing before you order.

Link insertion (inner page link)

Your link is added into an existing, already-published article on the

site — not a new post. A short sentence may be added naturally to

accommodate the anchor text if needed.

When it makes sense: Faster placement, lower cost, and

contextually relevant if the existing article already covers your niche.

Good for scaling volume without producing new content at every

step.

What to know: You don't control the exact article — the publisher

selects the most relevant existing piece on their site. If placement fit

matters to your campaign, check with our team before ordering.

💡 "Innerpage link" means the same thing as link insertion — the

link lives inside an existing page, not the homepage or a new guest

post article.

Homepage link

Your link is placed directly on the site's homepage — typically in a

footer, sidebar, or partner section.

When it makes sense: Strong domain authority signal, useful for

competitive niches where homepage DR carries weight. Less about

topical relevance, more about raw link equity.

What to know: Not every site in the marketplace offers homepage

placements. Filter by link type to find listings that do. Duration may

vary — check the listing details, as some homepage links have a

specified placement period rather than an open-ended one.
